AmBAR Appoints New President, Announces New Events and SVOD Conference.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The long-time AmBAR director Julia Pogodina was officially welcomed as the new President of AmBAR at the July 26th, 2010 Board meeting. Julia was elected by the majority of directors voting for her (including the previous president). Julia Pogodina, the new President of AmBAR, is a founder and principal of IBCI Law Group, a successful business law practice. The Board expressed full confidence in her ability to confidently lead AmBAR to new successes.
At this position Julia has succeeded Anna S. Dvornikova who had been AmBAR’s President for several years. On July 29, 2010, Anna Dvornikova, Vera Shokina and Stas Khirman approached the Board with their decisions to resign from the Board of directors of AmBAR; and the Board had accepted their resignations. Since then, AmBAR hopes for a smooth transition, and for a quick return to the organization of AmBAR's electronic and other assets by the resigned directors. Also AmBAR’s board of directors is launching an official audit of financial activities practiced. While this transition is taking place, AmBAR Board of Directors has to announce the new official website for AmBAR at www.ambargroup.org (under development) and the new official website for this year SVOD conference at www.svod2010.org.
Ms. Pogodins says: "I would appreciate everybody's understanding of our temporary transition problems. AmBar grew into a truly large organization; and currently we are developing more robust accountability and governance practices to ensure its efficient performance in long term. AmBAR has become an important player both in the US and Russia. Leading AmBar organization is a great honor for me. I am sure we can achieve more if we become better team players and focus more on the needs of the broader local community. I look forward to working with everybody involved in AmBAR and encourage more people to become active contributors. With your participation we'll continue building it as an effective platform for facilitating networking and exchange of business ideas among scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and executives, and other world class professionals".
